Counseling & Art Therapy Services

Offering individual sessions for teens (13+) and adults
Telehealth for clients located in Washington

Individual Therapy

I offer individual 50 minute sessions, via telehealth. I offer traditional talk therapy, art therapy, or a combination of both for individual sessions.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy can be a wonderful method to explore emotions and yourself, without words. You do not need previous artistic experience to benefit from art therapy.

Dreamwork

Combined art therapy & CBT focused on treating nightmares and stress dreams

  • Individual therapy is for teens (13+) and adults seeking a supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, and life challenges.

  • I primarily work with folks navigating anxiety, burnout, self-criticism, depression, questions around identity, or neurodiversity.

  • I am currently accepting new clients!

  • I offer individual 50 minute sessions, via HIPAA-compliant telehealth.

  • Individual therapy can be art therapy, talk therapy, dreamwork, or a combination of the above.

Individual Therapy

  • Rooted in person-centered, feminist, and gestalt principles. I incorporate mindfulness or CBT when helpful

Anxiety + Self Trust

I support clients who experience anxious looping, intrusive thoughts, and patterns of checking or self-monitoring that feel hard to interrupt.

Together, we explore tools that help create space, self-trust, and more ease in your daily life.

Neurodiversity

I work from a neurodiverse-affirming lens. We can explore your experiences as a neurodiverse individual, and increase coping strategies to lessen autistic or ADHD burn-out and overstimulation.

*I do not do ADHD or Autism assessments, but can happily provide referrals to trusted providers.

Queer folks

I support queer, trans, nonbinary, and women-identifying folks who are seeking a warm, affirming space. All are welcome 🌈

…and more

I also support anyone navigating depression, burnout, self-criticism, body image, questioning their gender or sexuality, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship challenges, among other challenges in life.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a therapeutic approach that utilizes creativity and art making to facilitate expression of feelings, emotions, and thoughts

Art making allows for meaningful nonverbal exploration of our inner worlds, that can lead to significant reflection, insight, and healing

What does art therapy look like in session?

In our sessions, I may invite you to make a simple drawing, respond to a prompt related to what we’re working on, or do a brief art-based check-in. Some sessions may involve more art-making, while others may be mostly talking. We will shift naturally based on what you need that day. You’re welcome to use whatever materials you have on hand (pens, markers, paint, collage, your latest knitting project, or even just a pencil and paper). The focus is on expression, not on making “good” art. Art-making is always optional, and we move at the pace and level of comfort that feels right for you.

How can we do art therapy virtually?

Art therapy works online much like it does in person. You may use whatever art supplies are accessible to you at home- this might be a sketchbook, loose paper, paint, collage materials, or even a simple pen and notepad. Art-making can happen during session or between sessions. I will support you in connecting with your creative process, noticing feelings that arise, and exploring the meaning behind the imagery.

Will you psychoanalyze my art?

No. Your art belongs to you. The goal of art therapy isn’t for a therapist to assign meaning or interpret symbols for you. Those old approaches of “experts” telling people what their imagery means are outdated and not aligned with person-centered art therapy.

Instead, we explore your art together. I may ask gentle, open-ended questions to help you reflect on your feelings, thoughts, or associations. You are in control of how much you want to share, and only you decide what your art means or doesn’t mean. I will never assign meaning, pathologize your imagery, or diagnose based on your art

Do I need to buy art materials?

No. We use what you already have. If you’d like to expand your materials, I’m happy to suggest budget-friendly options.

I’m not “artistic.” Is art therapy still for me?

Absolutely!! Art therapy isn’t about artistic skill- it’s about expression, meaning-making, and emotional processing. Stick figures work just fine. I often tell folks that there are “no grades” in art therapy!

Dreamwork & Nightmares

I work with clients using a blend of art therapy and CBT techniques to explore and process nightmares, stress dreams, and recurring dream themes.

Dreams can hold insights into our emotional life, stress patterns, and inner conflicts, and creative exploration can make those insights more tangible. Together, we can reflect on your dreams, identify patterns, and develop practical coping strategies to reduce distressing dreams, all in a supportive and non-judgmental space. Art-making can help to externalize and process what comes up in your dreams in a safe and expressive way.

During treatment, we may reimagine nightmares with alternative narratives, confront dream characters with compassion and curiosity, keep a dream journal, practice mindfulness techniques to stay clam when awoken in the nighttime, and do mask-making, drawing, collage, among other art therapy interventions.
